The slow synth layers come from far away! There is an anesthetic heaviness in this slow movement where synth strata whisper an abstract language. We hear strange squeaks on these oblong winged movements from a synthesizer in mode; music for relaxation. Alpha Lyra has always favored an ambient music approach. Modeled in the essences of Schulzian floating music, Christian Piednoir's music transits through a universe of lyrical ambiences where the poetry of words is sculpted by a sensitive approach which always finds its way to our inner mind. “The Nude (OST)” is the soundtrack of an Alvin Case film starring Natalia Carbullido who expresses total control over her body in an atypical ballet. Conscious of each muscle and its functions, she uses her training in Aikido to guide graceful minimalist movements, thus expressing the mysteries of the human form. And "Theme from THE NUDE" fits perfectly with this principle. The French musician brings to this film his most beautiful minimalist expression with long and slow layers which adopt the body expressions of the dancer. These floating layers get couple into a surprising nuptial symphony which gradually erodes its intensity with a slight tremolo in their expressions until a delicate pulsating rhythm brings us to its finale. That's ambient music at its best! Less minimalist but always very ambient, "Natalia" moves by the slow impulses of various synth layers with contracting tones. The principle espouses a little the approach of Ultime Atome but with variations in the rhythm space. A rhythm pushed by tiny after-effects of synth strata which agglutinate themselves and get melt like ink on a blotting paper extending thus multiple sonic filiform. Slow and fabulous, this long of nearly 40 minutes is full of angelic voices and lyrical sonic filaments as well as those cavernous breezes which come and go like the languid movements of a form of solitary ballet. It's a very good music of ambiences with nice moments of intensity that raise the hairs of our arms when one gives oneself entirely to the vision of Alpha Lyra. A must for fans of ambient music, just like the whole of “The Nude (OST)” which easily finds its place in the best works of its kind in 2018.
