Following the big success of Awareness, Thorsten Sudler-Mainz’s band gave a concert at the Bielefeld’s Electronic Circus Festival in Germany on September2010. An EP comes out of this performance, including 4 tracks of the album Awareness and a track from The Art Infinity’s album; New Horizon, released in 2000.
After the introductory gong of "Clouds", a soft river of musical prisms glitters and pours towards a hypnotic bass line. Synth waves embrace this soft bewitching movement which goes astray on a slow and hypnotic rhythm, where suave groans embrace strange nasal synth pads which blow great breaths to Arabic aromas. Longer than the studio album version, "Clouds" offers delicious ambient moments decorated with beautiful breaths of a little solitary saxophone. Taken from Art of Infinity’s repertoire, "The Dragons Flight" is moulded into Pink Floyd's ambiances (Wish you Were Here) with its synth to metallic mists which cross the melancholic breaths of Stefan Höllering's saxophone. It’s a very good ambient and atmospheric track, punctuated by delicious solos of a nervous synth to acutenesses tones. It’s a pity that it’s just too short! Strange mooing opens "Sense" which is fast surrounded by flitting breaths. The slow rhythm, a little as on "Clouds", "Sense" is encircled of a strange tribal approach like the peoples of sands. The rhythm wakes up little by little and dives into a languishing sand dance where the lamentations of the saxophone are more omnipresent than on Awareness. "Breath Space" is a good meshing of both tracks appearing on Awareness. The longest track of this EP begins with a soft breath of a synth to delicate oscillations. Tablas percussions drum a slightly skipping tempo with bass notes whereas, always so delicate, the synth wraps this cadence of a beautiful floating fog. The percussions fall and "Breath Space" increases slightly the cadence with bass notes to elasticity tones and breaths of a spectral synth. The saxophone joins this mesmerizing melody of sands, blowing contemplative lamentations before of unchaining in the intense universe of Strange.
It's a pity that this concert is reproduced only on 1 EP, because Deep Imagination’s concert breathtaking. The members of the trio offer versions that are rather different from original works, increasing thus the charm for this great performance. Let just wish that this EP is a foretaste of a complete album or a DVD to come. Keep our fingers cross!
